Computer Association of Nepal organized 18th CAN InfoTech 2012 starts today at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition grounds in Kathmandu. Several members of NPIX/ISPAN are participating along with dozens of Computer Vendors and ICT Service Providers.

Traffic crosses 900 Mbps mark

NPIX aggregate traffic has crossed 900 Mbps mark. It has been gradually increasing despite the scheduled daily power outages across the country.

Looks like we are going to reach the magical 1000 Mbps mark very soon.

NPIX Switch Upgrade

NPIX PTS Switch has been upgraded to Extreme Networks Summit X460-24x switch. The switch has been kindly donated by the Extreme Networks for which NPIX would like to express its thanks and appreciation.

The upgrade enables gigabit speed connectivity to all members allowing them to sustain their rapid growth in local traffic.

Traffic Crosses 600 Mbps mark

NPIX traffic has been increasing consistently over the last few months and has now crossed 600Mbps mark today.

This news coincides with the upgrade of JWL switch to all gigabit ports yesterday.

Jawalakhel Switch Upgrade

An emergency maintenance was performed at NPIX Jawalakhel. During which time, we also upgraded the IX switch fabric to Cisco 2970 with all gigabit ports. Due to the recent increase in IX traffic over the last few months, some members were fully utilizing their 100Mbps port.

All members are now encouraged to upgrade their ports from 100 Mbps to 1Gbps.
