npNOG-2

Internet Exchange Nepal (npIX) and Nepal Network Operators’ Group (npNOG) jointly organized npNOG-2 conference at Hotel Malla on June 18th, 2017. The conference was inaugurated by Chairman of Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), Mr. Digambar Jha.  The event was heavily participated by people involved and interested in Internet and data network field. Mr. Matt Jansen from FACEBOOK did his keynote presentation at the conference.

The event also had workshops on “IPv4/v6 routing”, “Optical fiber networking” and “Network security” from June 15th to June 17th, 2017. Huge participation interest was seen for workshop and was successfully organised with support from industry leading local instructors and APNIC instructors.

npIX also supported npNOG-2 for providing fellowship to 7 qualified applicants for workshops. More details of the event can be found in https://www.npnog.org/npnog2/

Apricot 2017 participation

npIX board members participated in Apricot 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam from Feb 26th to March 2nd, 2017. During the event, npIX board members attended APIX meeting, meeting with APIA for preparation of Apricot 2018 in Kathmandu. Mr. Rupesh Shrestha, CEO of Internet Exchange Nepal did a presentation to invite participants to next year’s APRICOT in Kathmandu. The Conference was attended by 654 delegates from 56 different countries.

During the event, npIX Chairman, Mr. Gaurab RajUpadhaya was re-elected in APNIC Executive Council (EC) election with majority votes from APNIC members.

Mr. Rupesh Shrestha also attended phNOG in Manila, Philippines as resource speaker and presented about npIX, npNOG and APRICOT 2018 in Nepal.

npNOG Launch with conference and workshop

Internet Exchange Nepal (npIX) and Nepal Network Operator’s Group (npNOG) proudly announces a program for “npNOG Launch” followed by conference and cocktail dinner. The conference will have several paper presentations relating to Nepal network operational updates, progress, challenges and new technologies.

Following the conference day, a 3day workshop will be organized jointly by npIX and npNOG in two different tracks. Each workshop will have technical experts conduct training in practical environment setup with hands on training.

2018 APRICOT to be hosted in Nepal !!

Oct 03, 2016: Internet Exchange Nepal (npIX) will be hosting Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies,  APRICOT 2018 (www.apricot.net) in Nepal!!! Announcement was made yesterday in APNIC 42 opening social dinner in Colombo.

SANOG-28 Mumbai

The Twenty Eighth edition of the biannual conferences and workshops of Network Operators of the South Asian region, SANOG 28, is being held in Mumbai, India.

This is the fourth time a SANOG is being hosted in Mumbai. It is hosted by ISPAI and co-hosted by NIXI. It will run from from 1st till 9th August 2016.
